Kelvin Guang Chang Cai

Kelvin is the owner of Memorial East Physical Therapy Clinic. Kelvin studied and earned his Bachelor of Science in physical therapy degree (1993-1997) at Queen's University, ON, Canada. Since then, he has been practicing physical therapy in different clinical settings including: hospitals outpatient/inpatient, acute care, home care, long-term care, and private clinics. Kelvin has over 20 yearsof physiotherapy clinical experience in prevention, assessment, and management of various orthopaedic conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. His expertise and skills include orthopedic and sport rehab, medical acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation (IMS), dry needling, manual therapy including joint mobilization, spinal and extremity manipulative therapy and myofascial soft tissue release, Graston technique, sport taping/K-tape, and exercise prescription. Kelvin also earned his diploma in Osteopractic from the Spinal Manipulative Institute/American Academy of Manipulative Therapy in the United States.

Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1989, Kelvin successfully completed his five-year medical training program (1981-1986) and earned his Bachelor of Science in Medicine (MD) in 1986 from Guangzhou Medical University, Guangzhou, China. He had been practicing as a paediatric surgeon in Guangzhou Children's Hospital for 3 years until he immigrated to Canada in 1989.

Registered Massage Therapist

Lavanya has been a registered massage therapist for 7 years and is a graduate with advanced massage therapy training from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy (PIMT) Calgary. Her experience has allowed her to work with a variety of local health care professionals and use different massage styles; stress reduction massage, trigger point therapy, sacro-cranial therapy, hydrotherapy, and sports injury massage. Marinela has been working in our clinic for over five years as a Physiotherapist Assistant. She can speak Tagalog and English. For her spare time, she is enjoying dancing, gardening, and culinary arts.

Leah completed her BSc in Applied and Environmental Geology at the University of Calgary in 2017. She has been working with us since 2015 as a clinic assistant and receptionist. In her free time she enjoys doing puzzles, crafts, and walking her dog.

Amy Fraser

Amy Fraser

Receptionist / Physiotherapy Assistant

Amy completed her BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary in 2016. She would love to return to school in a few years to study physiotherapy or sports medicine. Amy is currently working as a receptionist/physiotherapy assistant at at our clinic. She is an avid skier and her other passions include playing the ukulele, reading, and biking.

Johanna Huynh is a graduate from SAIT Polytechnic. She is likely to return to school to study Kinesiology. Johanna is currently working as a clinic assistant/receptionist. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and hiking.
